18-year-old reports rape near Fess Avenue

An 18-year-old female reported a rape that occurred between midnight Feb. 3 and 3 a.m. Feb. 4.

The incident occurred on the 400 block of North Fess Avenue. The female was at an off-campus party when she was reportedly sexually assaulted.

The male student who reportedly assaulted her has indicated that he believed it was consensual, IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash said. The rape was reported at 2:36 a.m. Feb. 4. IUPD’s investigation into the incident continues.
