Bloomington police are pursuing a local man in connection with a domestic assault case, Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill Parker said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Allen Robinson, 30.
If convicted, Robinson faces felony charges for interfering with the reporting of a crime and a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
Robinson’s girlfriend of eight months came home sometime before 12:31 a.m. Tuesday and reported Robinson was in a drunken slumber, Parker said.
The woman, 29, walked into the bathroom and reportedly saw a cockroach.
Upon seeing the insect, she shrieked, waking Robinson.
Robinson reportedly became upset that his sleep was disrupted and pushed the woman into the bathroom door frame, causing her to hit her head, Parker said.
The woman screamed again, and Robinson reacted by covering the woman’s mouth. She told authorities she was unable to breathe.
The woman attempted to call for help, but Robinson grabbed her phone, throwing it against a wall and damaging it.
Robinson fled the scene before police arrived.
