Agency to investigate possible neglect

An anonymous tip called in Tuesday took Bloomington police to the 1100 block of North Lindbergh Drive, where a caller said a mother had smoked methamphetamine in front of her child.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill Parker said police interviewed a woman, 25, and her child, 8, in response to the call. The woman refused to let police search her home, Parker said.

Police officers saw no evidence of drug use, Parker said.

Bloomington police notified Child Protective Services of the call and were assured the agency is launching a follow-up investigation, Parker said.
