4 Democrats run for Ind. District 9 representatives

SHELLI YODER  is a local professional who is currently an associate director of professional development for IU’s Kelley School of Business and former Miss Indiana. She graduated from IU-Purdue University Fort Wayne. She has received multiple endorsements from area politicians, such as Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan, for her platforms about education, health care and economic development. She has traveled through all Ind. counties.

JONATHAN GEORGE is a retired Air Force general and a former member of President Barack Obama’s National Security Staff. He was named a White House Fellow by former President Ronald Reagan in 1988.
 A native of Lawrence County, Ind., George’s main focus is returning jobs to southern Indiana. As a Hoosier of seven generations, George lives in Bedford, Ind. with his family.

ROBERT WINNINGHAM lists his experience as a swim coach in Louisville and staff assistant to former Congressman Lee Hamilton as important to his leadership skills.
He said he believes an educated, skilled workforce is key to getting the economy back on track.

JOHN TILFORD  was a Marine in the Vietnam War and continued to serve in the military through 2006. His most important platform is veterans’ affairs, and he has been actively involved in working with local veterans as veterans service officer for Monroe County, American Legion Post 18 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 604 since 2008.
