IU basketball hype caught on camera

Friday marks IU’s second basketball game this season against Kentucky, and anticipation for the game is building on campus.

Last time, Hoosiers rushed the court and flooded Kirkwood Avenue. In preparation for next game, Bloomington businesses have increased food and drink quantities for pre-game celebrations.

The University is attempting to immortalize this fervor.

On Wednesday, IU filmed a video montage of well-wishes to the Hoosier basketball team.
“Wear your IU gear!” the University said in a tweet.

Students were recruited to be in the video, which was filmed at 11 a.m. at the
Arboretum.

Individuals described where they planned to watch the game and wished the team good luck. Many made the IU “fists and blades” arm motions. Complementary cream and crimson hats, backpacks and shorts were distributed to all participants.

Later that day, the University also tweeted that there was a last-chance opportunity for students to participate in the film outside of Ballantine Hall.
