The Monroe County Clerk’s office announced Friday that it will receive $25,000 from the Indiana Secretary of State’s office.
This grant will continue to fund the Help America Vote Act in Monroe County.
The funds will be used to purchase 30 Franklin Voting Booths, which can provide space for about 120 voters. The booths will be handicap-accessible and wheelchair-accessible. The booths can be easily set up by poll workers, Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins said in an email.
Currently used in six Indiana counties, the booths accommodate both paper ballots and electronic voting machines.
For more information about the booths, contact County Clerk Linda Robbins at 812-349-2614.
