“A Different Kind of Truth” is the first studio album from rock legend Van Halen since 1998.
Many bands have tried a late career album release. Very few have seen any success. Some have failed outright.
Luckily for Van Halen, this is not the case. “Truth” is the band’s first album with bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, son of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen. The band still has its other notorious frontman, David Lee Roth, too.
This latest effort pales in comparison to “1984” and other Van Halen classics, but it is a breath of fresh air in today’s music world.
The first single from the album, “Tattoo,” is a nice glimpse back to Van Halen’s glory days in the 1980s.
“A Different Kind of Truth” is a different kind of music by today’s standards, but it proves that anything with Eddie Van Halen on guitar will still be worth listening to.
