Gov. Daniels to give GOP response to Obama speech tonight

Gov. Mitch Daniels will deliver the Republican rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address, which takes place at 9 p.m. tonight.

Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., announced Thursday that Daniels would deliver the rebuttal.

Daniels gained national attention when it was rumored he would run for the Republican presidential nomination. He announced he would not in May 2011.

The State of the Union will be delivered at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, and Daniels’ rebuttal will be aired immediately following the President’s speech and can be seen online at gop.gov/sotu.
