Dining out in Bloomington

Tired of eating at the same few places over and over again? These are only a few off-the-beaten path Bloomington restaurants with unique menus.

Olive Market
2610 E. 10th St.
812-332-1770
It looks like a Mexican grocery, but is home to some of Bloomington’s best tacos.
Olive Market is most famous for its tacos, only $1.90 each.

Roots on the Square
124 Walnut St.
812-336-7668
Roots’ menu offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees.
The menu also boasts a variety of Thai noodle and rice dishes.
The average menu item costs around $9.

Wee Willie’s Inc.
1724 S. Walnut St.
812-332-0500
Although there’s no sign outside, many locals know it as an inexpensive breakfast hot-spot.
Bring cash if you dine here — they don’t accept credit cards.

Le Petit Cafe
308 W. Sixth St.
812-334-9747
If you’re looking for somewhere to have a romantic evening, visit Le Petit Cafe for French cuisine.
Come during the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings when they serve breakfast items, sweet treats and hot chocolate directly out the kitchen window.

The Owlery
212 S. Rogers St.
812-333-7344
New to town, The Owlery offers vegetarian food, such as fish and chips made with deep-fried tofu at reasonable prices.
The Owlery also supports the Bloomington arts scene by offering poetry readings and live music.
