Scholars Inn Bakehouse Cycling Festival

The Scholars Inn Bakehouse Tortuga cycling team is hosting a Formula 1 style bicycle race on the streets of downtown Bloomington. Also known as a criterium, the event is one of the Midwest’s premier competitive cycling events.
Admission is free.
Explore Monroe Backwater: Intro Kayaking
12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, recurring every third Sunday of the month
Pine Grove Launch Ramp, located off State Road 446, south of Bloomington
Most High Adventure Outfitters is hosting the Intro Adventure Exploring Lake Monroe Backwaters. MHAO supplies all kayaks, canoes, paddles and life jackets, as well as equipment shuttles. This is an introduction to wilderness paddling.
$30 adult, $20 children ages 7 through 14
Born Learning Play Path Grand Opening
10 a.m. Friday
Clear Creek Trail, 1400 W. That Road
The Born Learning Play Path will officially open in a kid-friendly ceremony. The ceremony includes a ribbon cutting and guided tour of the Born Learning Play Path followed by refreshments and live entertainment by singer/songwriter Bobbie Lancaster.
The first 50 children to attend the ceremony will receive a free children’s book.
