Community volunteers are still needed with ongoing storm cleanup this weekend. After a confirmed EF1 tornado touched down Wednesday, May 25 and winds of 60 mph during storms that day and Monday, May 23, hundreds of trees are down through the county that need to be removed.
There will be a cleanup day for both the east and west sides of Bloomington June 4 and 5.
Volunteers with chainsaws or heavy equipment are especially needed, although volunteers without these things are welcome to help.
The east side cleanup day will be June 4. Volunteers should meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Unionville Elementary School parking lot located at 8144 E. SR 45.
The west side cleanup day will be June 5. Volunteers should meet at 1 p.m. Sunday in the AmVets building located at 5227 W. Airport Road.
