The deadline to register for the first-ever Hoosier Guitar Building Workshop is today.
The workshop will be presented by the School of Informatics and Computing and the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts and will take place 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. June 6-10 in the Fine Arts’ McCalla Studio. Students will craft and customize their very own solid-body electric guitar for a fee of $995 that includes all materials, a carrying bag and lunches during the program.
Mark French, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Purdue University, will teach the workshop.
“This really is a guitar-lover’s fantasy camp,” said IU informatics and computing professor Andrew Lumsdaine in a press release. “For the past five years they’ve done a similar workshop at Purdue and had great success. We’re excited to be bringing Mark French to Bloomington to start the tradition here at IU.”
Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to 18 participants. Click here to register.
