Lake Monroe

As a result of the weekend’s heavy rains, Lake Monroe’s water level has risen more than two feet since April 22. Water levels are predicted to rise to dangerous heights by Wednesday, which could result in flooding of roads, beaches and emergency avenues.

Friday, Midnight — 548.44 feet
At 548 feet, Lake Monroe can flood emergency bypass bulkheads and the approach road to Paynetown docks.

Sunday, 1:25 p.m. — 550.81 feet
At 550 feet, Lake Monroe can flood Allen’s Creek SRA Road and the approach road to Hardin Ridge Beach. The Indiana DNR storage building at Crooked Creek, the ramp access roads to Crooked Creek and Pine Grove will also flood at this level.

Wednesday — 552.1 feet (predicted)
At 552 feet, the  access road goes underwater near the main boat ramp. Access to the ramp, picnic areas and Pleasure Craft Marina could be unavailable by vehicle.
