IU’s WIUX 99.1 FM announced its lineup for the annual festival Culture Shock 2011 today.
The free event will begin at 2 p.m. April 23 in Dunn Meadow and is open to the public.
Headlining this year is San Francisco’s psychedelic artist Ty Segall, who just released his third album, “Melted.” Joining him will be Brooklyn-based band Beach Fossils and The War on Drugs from Philadelphia.
Regional acts include Chicago’s Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt and Weakness from Cincinnati. Local bands Waxeater, Gardendale & Berkeley and Sleeping Bag will round out the festival.
WIUX is a student-operated radio station that broadcasts in the Bloomington area and can be streamed on iTunes or on the radio’s website.
