The City of Bloomington announced a road closure from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. today for the installation of the B-line bridge over Grimes Lane.
The closed roads are Grimes Lane/Patterson Drive from Walnut to Rogers streets and Morton Street from West Allen Street to Grimes Lane/Patterson Drive.
Access to Grimes Lane between Walnut Street and the B-line Trail will be limited to Bloomington Transit and businesses along that section.
The first phase of the B-line Trail was finished in the summer of 2009 and runs from Rogers Street to Second Street. The second phase of the B-line trail construction began in the spring of 2010 and is expected to be completed late during the summer of 2011.
The second phase is 2.4 miles long and runs from Second Street to Country Club Drive and from Rogers Street to Adams Street.
The completion of the B-line Trail will connect three trail systems: the B-line Trail, the Bloomington Rail Trail, and the Clear Creek Trail.
