Doss earns All-Big Ten honors

Football v. Penn State

IU junior wide receiver Tandon Doss earned All-Big Ten honors Monday. He was voted to the All-Big Ten first team by the coaches and to the second team by the media.

Doss, an Indianapolis native, led the Big Ten with 175.8 all-purpose yards per game. His 1,641 all-purpose yards ranks seventh on IU’s single-season list. He finished the 2010 season with 63 receptions, 706 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Many consider Doss a potential NFL draft pick in the spring. Following the season’s final game Saturday against Purdue, Doss said he will take the next couple weeks to make a decision.

Fellow junior wide receiver Damarlo Belcher, senior offensive tackle James Brewer and redshirt freshman kicker Mitch Ewald received honorable mention recognition from the coaches. Belcher, Brewer, redshirt freshman tight end Ted Bolser, senior quarterback Ben Chappell and senior linebacker Tyler Replogle were listed as honorable mention from the media.

Ewald also earned conference recognition today, winning Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Ewald nailed a 26-yard field goal with nine seconds left in regulation against Purdue on Saturday and won the game in overtime with a 31-yard field goal.
