Women's soccer prepares for rival Purdue

Purdue leads its all-time series against IU 10-1-2.

In fact, the only time IU has defeated the Boilermakers was in the team’s first meeting on Oct. 22, 1999.

The Hoosiers (4-8-1) will not only be looking for a long-awaited victory against their rivals when they play at 4 p.m. Thursday in West Lafayette, but they are also looking for their first Big Ten win of the season.

IU has lost four Big Ten games in a row in the past two weeks, and its next five opponents present another challenge.

IU is ranked at the bottom of the Big Ten, while Purdue is tied with Northwestern and Minnesota at fifth with one Big Ten win.

Purdue’s only conference win was on Sept. 26 when it defeated Northwestern at home.
After the Purdue game, the Hoosiers will have a 10-day break before facing Michigan on Oct. 17 at home.
