The Bloomington Faculty Council met today for the third time this semester and approved the proposal to revise the Bloomington Campus Calendar.
The revisions will have the 2012-2013 school year begin one week earlier. Also, students will get one Friday off in October for fall break, and there will be no classes on Labor Day. Thanksgiving break will now be extended to nine days.
The faculty council is an elected body of representatives from the Bloomington campus that votes and decides on the campus academic mission, calendar, campus facilities, budgets and more.
For an update on the proposal and IU Student Associations reaction, see tomorrow’s issue of the Indiana Daily Student.
