In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which kicked off Wednesday, Vicki L. Ruiz, dean of the School of Humanities at the University of California Irvine, will speak about gender, labor, immigration and more in her lecture titled “Citizen Restaurant: American Imaginaries, American Communities.”
The talk is 4 p.m. today in Ballantine Hall room 310, with a dinner reception at 6:30 p.m. at La Casa Latino Cultural Center, 715 E. Seventh St.
