Union Board returns from weekend retreat

The Union Board returned from its annual John K. Malkin Leadership Retreat, a weekend dedicated to welcoming the newly elected board members.

Junior Sean Liston will be the 2010 president.

The new board members completed a number of tasks and training this weekend, including deciding positions for the new group. Committees are added, merged or deleted during this time as the new board sees fit.

The weekend included workshops on diversity, leadership and personalities, something the board deems important due to all the time they spend together.

Sophomore Dan Haddad, director of comedy, said he enjoyed the retreat and encouraged other students to get involved. 

“There are a lot of misconceptions about how to join a committee,” he said. “You can join anytime.”

The new board plans to have a call-out meeting for interested students on Feb. 3.
