Theatre of the People and the School of Education are both offering opportunities to be involved in their upcoming performances.
A new local non-profit group which works to increase public awareness of humanitarian issues, Theatre of the People will have auditions for the "The Josef K Files The Trial" with excerpts from "Plato’s Apology" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium.
Interested actors will read from the script and roles for both students and residents of all ages and experience levels are available. The performance will be in January at the John Waldron Arts Center Rose Firebay. More information is avaliable on the group's website: www.theatreofthepeople.com.
Also, The School of Education is presenting their first play as a way to show teachers’ support of the fine arts as well as the prevention of hate crimes.
The Laramie Project is a play about a student who was beat to death because he was suspected to be gay and will be performed on March 5. Musicians, actors, fundraisers, singers and technicians are needed and a call out meeting is at 7p.m. Thursday at the School of Education in
room 1220 and 5:45 p.m. Friday in room 1225.
