IU Police Department arrested a Bloomington resident on a warrant for probation violation and promoting prostitution on the west side of the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
Mark C. Gillette, 47, was arrested Monday after IUPD received an anonymous tip reference to a Craigslist posting under “Men for Men” ads. The subject of the ad claimed the subject was part of a male escort service.
IUPD officer Chris Collins, working undercover, responded to the ad and arranged for a meeting on the west side of the HPER building. Gillette had an active warrant out for his arrest, issued on March 10, for failure to appear to meetings and/or register as a sex offender.
Gillette was released from jail in February after being arrested in May 2006 for promoting prostitution, involving two teenage boys, 16 and 17 years of age
