The award-winning editor-in-chief of Men’s Health magazine and author of the best-selling “Abs Diet” books, David Zinczenko, has emerged once again with his unique new book “Eat This Not That!” which he co-wrote with Men’s Health Food and Nutrition Editor Matt Goulding. Zinczenko has made a career out of promoting a healthy diet and regular exercise as a way of getting in shape.\nIn addition to being the head man at Men’s Health, Zinczenko also serves as editorial director of Best Life, a luxury service magazine for affluent men over the age of forty. Just last year, he launched FitSchools, a national campaign to revive physical-education programs in elementary schools all across America. A two-time competitor in the New York City Marathon, Zinczenko has been named among the “40 Under 40” for up-and-coming New York-based business people by the Web site www.crainsnewyork.com. “Eat This Not That!” is his 12th book to date. All of his work has had to do with health subjects such as sex, diet, exercise and more specifically, carving out that six-pack we all covet.\nThis informative, resourceful book has allowed me to cut the unwanted fat and empty calories out of my daily diet by simply swapping one brand of food for another in addition to ordering healthier food when dining out. With full-color photos and diagrams, it contains shocking alternatives when ordering out at over 60 of your favorite restaurants, from Applebee’s to Wendy’s. Adding to the food swaps, each page contains information involving the amount of calories, grams of fat and sodium in each ordered meal in addition to little-known information about each restaurant’s food. Think that’s not enough? Check out the alarming list of “The 20 Worst Foods in America.” \nEven as a calorie-counting, self-proclaimed health nut and running back for the Hoosiers football team, I’m guilty of No. 14. Who knew that a 12-inch Chicken Carbonara from Quiznos contained 1,510 calories, 82 grams of fat, 106 grams of carbohydrates, and 3,750 milligrams of sodium? Just wait until you see the No. 1-ranked worst food in America: 2,900 calories in \none appetizer.\nZinczenko said the book is not to be read but to be used wherever the reader goes. You can take this book with you when you’re grocery shopping, out at a restaurant or bumming around the house trying to think of something good to eat. So, need to lose a few pounds? Applying the book’s health information in conjunction with regular exercise may just cause those excess pounds to melt off. “Eat This Not That!” is currently available wherever books are sold.
