Local concert band giving 10 summer shows

Bloomington has an abundance of community performance groups, but many of them go unnoticed.\nBloomington Community Band, under the direction of Tim Moore and Associate Director Joe Car, is an all-adult volunteer concert band. The band consists of 40 to 60 members ranging in age from 18 to 90, performing around 20 concerts for the public each year.\nThe Bloomington Community Band opens its summer concert season at 9:30 a.m. May 29 with a performance at the Memorial Day ceremony at Valhalla Memory Gardens.\nThe band will go on to perform a 10-concert series throughout the summer.\nTicket prices for the "Picnic with the Pops" concert begin with lawn seating at $10 for adults and $5 for children.
