Tucker Max -- notorious to some for his actions he describes as inappropriate and unsafe -- will be signing copies of his book "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" on campus at 7 p.m. today at Sigma Chi. \nFor his tales about a road trips and hookups Max has received ire and praise over his accounts. Max has received some strong hate mail for his stories, which include what he says are accounts of his first experience with anal sex. \n"You are a disgusting, vile, repulsive, repugnant, foul creature," wrote one complainant, which later appeared on the back of Max's book. "Because of you, I don't believe in God anymore. No just God would allow someone like you to exist." \nViewers can visit his Web site, www.tuckermax.com, to read about and comment on his exploits. The site contains a message board where people, fans and critics alike, have discussed Max's stories.\nSigma Chi members Nick Bassett and Jacob Phillips helped bring Max to IU. This is the latest stop of a tour that has that included several East Coast and Southern schools.\nThrough his Web site, Max has kept a running update on the tour. He keeps a tally of books sold, books signed, alcohol consumed and pictures taken with fans. \nHe also keeps a tally of the women he says he has "hooked up with."\n"Well, I guess there's no really telling (what will happen) with Tucker Max, but it should be a good time at least," Bassett said.\nThe tour is a an attempt to publicize his book, which has appeared on the New York Times Bestseller list. \nMax has gathered crowds that have ranged in size from around 70 to almost 200. Max doesn't arrange the signings himself, rather leaving that to local organizers, like Bassett and Phillips. \nMax said he holds no expectations for tonight's event.\n"I don't really have any expectations," Max said. "I have no idea what kind of turnout I am going to get at these places, I don't know what to expect, I just show up and let nature take it's course. If you force things, it never works"
