Arrest made in connection with People's State Bank robbery

Police arrest man using tip spurred by surveillance photo

Bloomington Police Department officers arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred at People's State Bank in Bloomington on March 2, according to a BPD press release.\nBPD Detective Sarah Carnes arrested 21-year-old Bloomington resident Ryan Patrick Mobley when he appeared for an unrelated hearing at the Monroe County Justice Building, according to the press release. Police say the arrest was made because of a series of tips called in to the police department after a surveillance photo was published in the Bloomington Herald-Times. According to the press release, those who called said they had recently seen Mobley with large amounts of cash shortly after the robbery and that he resembled the man in the photo.\nA man, who police and call-in tippers believe to be Mobley, handed a bank teller a note and left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a March 3 Indiana Daily Student article. No weapon was displayed, according to the press release.
