IU trustees to conduct statewide forum on tuition\nThe IU Board of Trustees will hold a statewide forum Wednesday in which the public can express and hear differing opinions on tuition and mandatory fee proposals for the 2005-2006 academic year.\nAlthough the nine-member board will meet on the Bloomington campus, video links will facilitate communication with attendees at sites in Indianapolis and six other regional campuses. The public is welcome to attend any of the meetings.\nThis forum will allow trustees to hear what people across the state have to say about fees and tuition -- including those who must pay them. \nThe forum will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will last for two hours. \nThe forum can be viewed through video-streaming on the Internet, and questions and comments may be submitted in advance via e-mail. McKaig honored with annual award for student deans\nThe National Association of Student Personnel Administrators awarded Richard McKaig, IU dean of students, the 2005 Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Dean. \nThe Goodnight award has strict criteria. "The award is given to a dean who has demonstrated sustained professional service in student affairs work, high-level competency in administrative skills, innovative response in meeting students' varied and emerging needs, effectiveness in developing junior staff members and leadership in community and university affairs," according to the IU Media Relations Web site. Furthermore, "the award recipient also must have earned stature among and support of students, faculty and fellow administrators on his or her campus and made significant contributions to the field through publications or professional involvement"
