Indiana governor to visit IU job fair

Indiana Employer Fair attracts more than 40 companies

During Gov. Mitch Daniels' campaign he repeatedly stated the need to stop the "brain drain" in Indiana. Today he is doing something about it.\nThe public is welcome at the Indiana Employer Career Fair, which takes place today in Alumni Hall of the Indiana Memorial Union. Daniels will speak at noon.\nThis career fair focuses on those who want to work or gain experience with Indiana companies, said Mark Brostoff, associate director of Undergraduate Career Services at the Kelley School of Business.\n"Students should be prepared with resumes and chat with employers about internships and full-time opportunities," he said. "These are some of the top employers in the state of Indiana."\nThe collaborative career fair between the College of Arts and Sciences, the Kelley School of Business, the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the School of Informatics has attracted more than 40 companies across Indiana seeking to hire students for both internships and full-time positions, according to a statement on the IU News Info Web site.\nThe important thing about this fair is it is open to all students, not just those from the specific schools putting on the event, Brostoff said.\nStudents not graduating this year should not shy away from the fair. Those students should go to the fair because they can learn about internship opportunities, Brostoff said.\n"Career fairs are a great opportunity to learn about employers (students) are going to talk to in the future," he said. "A career fair is an excellent opportunity to network as well"
