Lectures aim to inform students about Islam Awareness \nAs a part of the Muslim Student Union's Islam Awareness Week 2005, lectures will be held to discuss emerging topics of importance as they relate to Islam. Aly Farag, a professor at the University of Louisville, will be speaking about the relationship of Islam has to Christianity and Judaism and what common ground the religions have. \nThe lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Room 033 of the Chemistry Building. On Thursday New York University professor Noah Feldman will discuss "Islam and Democracy in Iraq." Feldman is also a constitutional adviser to the Iraqi government and will discuss the potential for democracy in Iraq.
Fraternity to hold multiple sclerosis benefit dinner\nPhi Kappa Sigma will hold a benefit dinner April 2 at the Indianapolis Hyatt Regency with a hoped-for attendance of 600 people, ranging from alumni, students administration members and government figures. Proceeds will benefit multiple sclerosis research. An auction, information booklets, ticket sales and sponsorship donations will all be fund-raisers to dedicate toward research for a cure. \nThe auction will go on the entire night including live auctions for valuable items and a silent auction for smaller items. Political adviser to speak about U.S., Burma relations\nKeith Luce, a senior adviser on Asia and the Pacific for the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and adviser to Sen. Richard Lugar, will speak at 3 p.m. Friday at the IU International Program Office, 201 N. Indiana Ave. The United States has worked for many years in support of the pro-democratic movement in Burma. Communications conference open to all students\nMultivisions, an all-day conference for students interested in communications, will begin at 9 a.m. April 1 and finish at 5 p.m. in the Radio/TV Building. Throughout the day different panels will be held to inform students about the industry. The panels, however, will begin at 10 a.m. and finish at 3:15 p.m.\nThe panels include marketing and sales, production, audio industry, interactive media and the television industry.
