Highway re-dedicated to late Congressman McCloskey

A 55-mile stretch of a southern Indiana highway was renamed Wednesday in honor of former U.S. Rep. Frank McCloskey, who died last year.\nThe stretch of State Road 45 renamed the McCloskey Highway stretches from Bean Blossom in Brown County, through Bloomington and to Scotland, in Greene County.\nA ceremony for renaming the roadway was held at Bloomington City Hall, with speakers including Gov. Joe Kernan, McCloskey's widow, Roberta McCloskey, Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan, and former state Rep. Brian Hasler.\nMcCloskey, a Democrat, served three terms as mayor of Bloomington and six terms in Congress. He died of cancer last year at age 64.\nA strong advocate for Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, McCloskey often drove the highway to the base.
