Toxicology reports released by the Bloomington Police Department Wednesday night found traces of several drugs in the system of Bryan M. Gooldy, 45, whose car struck and killed IU alumna Katharine B. Comiskey early Tuesday morning.\n"Test results on the blood sample indicated the presence of opiates, cocaine and benzodiazepine," the release stated. "The (probable cause) affidavit alleges that Gooldy caused the death of Katharine B. Comiskey by operating a vehicle under the influence of these substances at the time of the accident."\nComiskey, who graduated from IU in 2002, was traveling to her job as an English teacher at Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Ind., when Gooldy crossed the center line on Walnut Street, resulting in the head-on collision. Comiskey was pronounced dead at Bloomington Hospital from injuries resulting from the collision. \nAs a result of the toxicology results, Gooldy has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, a class B felony; operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs causing death, a class B felony; and being a habitual offender, BPD Capt. Joe Qualters said in the statement.\nGooldy had previously been charged with possession of a controlled substance in 1994, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud in 1995, and robbery in 2000, according to the statement. Bond has been set at $1 million.\nQualters said a warrant for Gooldy's arrest was issued late Wednesday night, and he will be arrested upon his release from Bloomington Hospital.
