Sixth place finish for IU

Entering the final round of the Texas A&M "Mo"morial Invitational Tuesday, the IU women's golf team was only two strokes off the lead.\nEighteen holes later, the women in crimson and cream finished their second tournament of the spring in sixth place, just six shots off the winner -- Kansas State.\nThe 915 IU shot set a new school record for team score at the "Mo"morial Invitational. The old record was 917, set in 2001.\nBesides slipping off the pace in the last round, three Hoosiers finished the tournament in the top 20.\nSenior Karen Dennison shot a seven-over-par 223 for the tournament, finishing tied for sixth place. Senior Danah Ford finished three strokes behind Dennison, tying for No. 15 with a 228 for the two-day tournament. Rounding out the top 20 for the Hoosiers was sophomore Molly Redfearn, who came in tied for No. 19. She shot 229 for the Invitational.\nTwo other Hoosier individuals competed, with senior Ambry Bishop tying for No. 44 with a 235 and junior Bethany Brunner occupying the No. 79 alone with a 249. \nOf the Hoosiers' two tournaments this spring, they placed the highest in the "Mo"morial. \nThe trio of seniors will lead IU into action next at the BU/Tapatio Springs Shootout in San Antonio March 19 through 21.
