BPD conducting training at bypass\nThe Bloomington Police Department Critical Incident Response Team is training this week on an IU property at the northwest corner of the State Road 45/46 Bypass and Fee Lane. The training will feature tactics on entering and securing buildings.\nThe training will occur at various times of day and night this week. IU issued a press release urging passersbyers not to be alarmed by the presence of emergency vehicles, as it is all training.
Same-sex marriage discussion today\nStudents interested in the recent debate over same-sex marriage can attend a discussion on it today in the Moot Court Room. Ken Falk, legal director of the Indiana Civil Liberties Union and Peter Rusthoven, a partner at Barnes & Thornburg in Indianapolis, will present "Is Indiana Ready to Embrace Same-Sex Marriage?" at noon.\nThe discussion, presented by the American Constitution Society, the Federalist Society and the Student Law Association will feature both sides of the debate and the latest national and state development. \nFor more information, visit www.law.indiana.edu/publications/ila/26_09.shtml.
Author to talk about Constitution\nRandy Barnett, author and professor of the Boston University School of Law, will talk Thursday at noon in room 125 of the law school. Barnett, who is a Harvard Law School graduate and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, will present "Restoring the Lost Constitution," an argument that the Supreme Court has wrongly changed the Constitution. \nIU professor Patrick Baude will speak after the lecture and lunch will be provided for all in attendance. The event is sponsored by the Federalist Society.
