Resurrection doesn't get off the ground

It's difficult to compare Tupac's posthumous albums to the classics during his life. Frankly, there's a reason these songs never made it onto one of his albums. \nWhat's disappointing about Resurrection is several songs are no different from when they were originally released. "Starin' Through my Rearview" (Gang Related soundtrack), "Death Around the Corner" (Me Against the World) and "Holla if Ya Hear Me" (Strictly 4 my N.I.G.G.A.Z.) were already released, and fans most likely already own the songs. The only previously released song that has its own place is Digital Underground's "Same Song" (1991), which features Tupac's rap debut. \nAs for new tracks, "Runnin'," featuring fellow rap martyr Biggie Smalls is the clear standout. 50 Cent provides an extremely bold and false statement on "Realist Killaz." "Till Makaveli returns it's all eyes on me," proclaims 50, even though he has plenty to prove with only one album under his belt. \nThankfully, Tupac recorded scores of music to release following his prophesized death. However, either those recordings are getting slimmer or are being saved for a later date because they continue to be filled out by remixes, reissues and other artists.
