Before taping at Teter Quad, the adult film crew that visited IU in October performed sex acts in a studio at the campus radio station. \nWIUS, IU's student radio station, played host to what would become a preview of the "Invasion" that Shane Enterprises had in store for IU. The entire cast and crew of "Campus Invasion" stopped by the WIUS studios to spice up the morning radio show with a sexual demonstration.\nCalli Cox, publicist and actress for Shane Enterprises, contacted various student groups via e-mail to promote the event weeks before they arrived. Shane Enterprises' contact list included the disc jockeys at the station, WIUS news director Lou Capwell said.\n"When they did their canvassing of groups, they dropped a massive e-mail on guys at the radio station," he said.\nJunior Neal Taflinger, the DJ of that morning's show, said WIUS was the first stop on the production crew's list.\n"We were the first thing they did," he said. "They wanted to promote their visit." \nThe original agreement was for two of the film's actresses to come on a radio show, Capwell said. The station's staffers were surprised when many more showed up for the taping, he said.\n"It was supposed to be an interview," he said. "We're a college radio station; we'll do anything. They didn't say camera crew, lights and boom operator."\nThe interview, which lasted for over 30 minutes and includes audio of two actresses engaging in oral sex, was recorded, edited for obscene language and aired at a later date.\nWIUS didn't think much of the incident at the time, Capwell said.\n"We kept it pretty quiet because it wasn't a big deal at the time," he said. "We didn't do anything sexually with them."\nAfter the Indiana Daily Student first reported Oct. 23 on the pornographic filming in Teter Quad, WIUS notified Assistant Dean of Students Jim Gibson about the interview.\nWIUS then contacted IU student legal services to draft a letter to Shane Enterprises asking the company not to use any likeness of WIUS in the video. Five WIUS employees had signed waivers to appear in the video, but after the IDS story, they decided they no longer wanted to be involved, Capwell said.\nTaflinger said the sexual incidents that occurred took him by surprise.\n"What we agreed upon and what happened were drastically different," he said. "They walked in with their cameras rolling."\nThe entire cast of "Campus Invasion" was in the studio, along with three Shane Enterprises crewmembers, and some other WIUS employees, Taflinger said. When the actresses began engaging in oral sex, they closed off the studio.\nIn the WIUS interview, obtained by the IDS, Calli Cox said Shane Enterprises specifically targets its products to college students. \nCox said giving some students oral sex was on their to-do list while on campus.\n"There's going to be a lot of interaction," she said during the radio show. \n"Campus Invasion" is scheduled to be available in stores Dec. 17. IU officials, now in possession of the completed IU Police Department investigation, said previously that they would screen the film for any student code of conduct violations and trademark violations.\nShane Enterprises maintains they did not use any discernable IU logos or colors in the film.
