Angels even World Series against Giants\nDown 1-0 in the World Series, the Angels didn't give in as they battled back for an 11-10 win Sunday night. Anaheim right-fielder Tim Salmon hit a two run home run in the bottom of the ninth to break a 9-9 tie in a game dominated by offense.\nNeither starting pitcher lasted more than two innings as Anaheim scored five runs in the first inning and San Francisco added four in the second. The teams combined for 28 hits.\nFor the Giants, Barry Bonds had three walks and hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth to bring his team within one. Salmon was the offensive leader for the Angels, going 4-4 with four RBIs, a walk and three runs. \nTroy Percival pitched the ninth inning for the Angels to earn his first save of the series.\nThe Giants took the 1-0 lead in the series on Saturday with a 4-3 victory. Bonds homered in his first World Series at bat to power the Giants to the early series lead. \nThe series will shift to San Francisco for game three on Tuesday night.\nRowing competes in pair of regattas\nThe Hoosiers wrapped up a very successful weekend at two different regattas. One crew was sent to Boston, Mass., for the Head of the Charles while the rest of the team went up to Indianapolis for the Head of the Eagle.\nThe varsity 8 placed eighth at the Head of the Charles with a time of 17:33. \nThe boat consisted of seniors Stephanie Mast, Emily Rumschlag, Margaret Clark, Erin Koers, Danielle Bird and Becky England, junior Line Espedal and sophomore Meredith De Costa. The University of Tennessee finished first with a time of 17:07 to defend their first place finish from last year.\nAt the Head of the Eagle, all of the Hoosiers' varsity boats won their races. The varsity 8 finished with a time of 17:18. The varsity 4 came in at 19:04 while the quad finished at 19:39.\nHarriers compete in Pre-Nats\nThe men's and women's cross country teams both competed at the NCAA Pre-Nationals over the weekend. The No. 17 men's squad finished in fourth place behind freshmen John and Sean Jefferson who took 16th (24:20) and 18th (24:22).\n"I think if you asked the guys, they would say they ran just about average," coach Robert Chapman said. "Luckily, our average is pretty good."\nOn the women's side, the Hoosiers finished in eighth place overall. Sophomore Mindy Peterson finished in 30th place (21:16) and freshman Jessica Gall took 38th place (21:27).
