Women's swimming team completes 1st road trip\nThe IU women's swim team finished third at the Big Ten relays at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.\nIU earned 158 points, 18 points shy of second-place Illinois. The Hoosiers were victorious in one event and placed second in six.\nHost Northwestern won the event, while IU could not favor more than one victory.\nThe victory came in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:29.30, with the work of sophomore Elizabeth Weyerbacher, junior Anne Williams, freshman Erin Smith and senior Susan Woessner. The time is IU's 10th fastest in school history.\nThe Hoosiers continue the 2001-2002 season Nov. 9, hosting the University of Iowa at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center at 1 p.m.\nWomen's crew closes season, Novice 8 victorious in finale\nThe IU women's crew team closed the season with the Head of the Elk regatta on the St. Joseph's River in Elkhart, Ind.\nThe Novice Eight B team won with a time of 16:30.89.\nThe Varsity squad finished fourth in the A race, fourth in the B race and sixth in the C race.\nIU also competed in the Varsity Open Eight with the A boat finishing fifth and the B boat finishing 12th.\nThe Hoosiers begin their spring season March 22 at the Sacramento Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.\nWomen's tennis making history\nJunior Karie Schlubebir and sophomore Linda Tran play today for the championship in doubles against Illinois State.
