Freedom crucial to prosperity

Prosperity is defined by Webster's as success and/or a period of economic well-being. The United States without a doubt is the most prosperous nation in the history of mankind. Why? Well, compared to the oppression that people in the other parts of the world are forced to live under, we Americans enjoy the most freedom. That's right. Our strength lies in our freedom. We have the freedom to explore and pursue any career that we desire. Freedom creates an environment where we can tap into our potential and be the best we can be at what we do.\nThis has been the recipe for unprecedented prosperity. Nobody has understood the significance of freedom more than our Founding Fathers.\nThe Founders adopted a system of governance that works, one which has facilitated prosperity and peace. That system of governance is self-governance. Self-governance or sovereignty is founded on the principle that human beings are "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights." Our Founding Fathers did not create but recognized and defined these basic human freedoms in the Bill of Rights and formed a representative republic to protect these rights and defend our sovereignty. A republic whose national sovereignty is simply a combined sovereignty of each citizen manifested through a government they create and control.\nThe key here is that freedom is not granted or bestowed upon us by government. Our individual rights are not handed down to us by the State but by our Creator. This self-evident truth sets our nation apart from countries like China, Cuba, Russia and others of leftist ideologies where socialism, communism, progressivism and liberalism flourish. Nations of these doctrines attempt to achieve prosperity through a central power which usurps freedoms redistributing wealth, dictating economic decisions, forcing peace through its military, and deciding who and how many do what. History has proven that attempting to eliminate poverty by administering economic and social equity under a central authoritative power does not work. \nIf we are to continue to prosper and lead the world by example we must protect our freedom. We as individual citizens of this great nation can help accomplish this and ensure that future generations are allowed to exercise their God-given rights by bringing up our children and educating them as to the importance of self-governance.\nSelf-governance is key to preserving freedom. Nowhere else is laying the foundation for our children becoming self-governing citizens more important than at home. \nTwo parents, mom and dad, provide stability and security creating an optimal environment in which our children can grow. Here parents can take the quality time necessary to teach our children about God, love, morality, individual responsibility and accountability and self-reliance, the tools necessary to prepare our children to not grow to be dependent upon government for every aspect of their lives.\nNeither video games, television, the Internet, day care centers nor even public schools can or will impart this crucial knowledge onto our children.\nIn addition, whether at home, private or public school, as parents and stewards of freedom it is our responsibility to see to it that our children study the Constitution and its essential role in protecting our freedom. In founding the Constitution and Bill of Rights the framers studied the law of nature, ancient governments, the English constitution and reflected on their own experiences under a tyrannical monarch. "Happy are the men, and happy the people, who grow wise by the misfortunes of others." The Founders understood the tendencies of people in power. They drew up a constitution that has enabled generations to successfully resist tyranny, demonstrating that the Constitution indeed transcends time. It is the greatest safeguard of freedom in man's history, limiting the power, size and scope of government, not the actions of a free people.\nAs a result, the United States is second to none. America is the most technologically advanced, cleanest, safest and strongest country in the world. And it's not because Americans as human beings are born superior to anyone else in the world. We are not endowed with any genetic advantages. All human beings are created equal and created with certain unalienable rights. Only here, we are able to exercise those rights and pursue our passions with the least amount of limitations and restrictions. America\'s success and prosperity these past 200 plus years can be summed up in one word. Freedom.
