A 19-year-old female IU student reported an unknown man Sunday night after he allegedly offered her $1,000 a month to have sex with him.
The student said she was walking north on Rose Avenue toward the Student Recreational Sports Center at 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he approached her.
He offered her money for sex once and then again after she responded with confusion.
The student told IU police the man appeared to be Filipino and in his 30’s or 40’s. She said hew was around 5 feet 6 inches and had short black hair styled in a buzzcut. He spoke softly and with an accent, she told police.
Police are still investigating the incident as a promoting prostitution case.
IUPD Captain Craig Munroe said he encourages anyone who has been contacted by a man who fits the description to come forward if they are comfortable doing so.
“If you have any information on this case, please let us know,” Munroe said.
