A Bloomington man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly stabbing a man to death over a domestic disturbance.

Kenneth D. Hawkins, 48, is charged with homicide, intimidation with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and criminal confinement.

Police responded to the stabbing around 1:45 p.m. at an apartment on South Odell Drive, according to a release from the Bloomington Police Department.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 46-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to the chest. The man, Michael Rainey, was taken to IU Bloomington Health Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a single stab wound to the chest.
