IUPD police cars sit at the IUPD station on March 5, 2023, on East 17th Street. BPD is budgeted for 105 officers, but currently has about 87 officers, according to Fraternal Order of Police President Paul Post.

Kirkwood Avenue is seen Dec. 12, 2022, between Sample Gates in Bloomington. A program that previously stopped vehicles from driving on a section of Kirkwood Avenue will restart April 3 and last til Oct. 1.

On Feb. 1, 2023, the Walmart Supercenter in Bloomington offered a variety of firearm ammunition and scopes to choose from. Walmart stores still sell firearms but this location currently only sells ammunition and scopes.

A closed subway is seen on Jan. 30, 2023, at Crosstown Plaza on 10th Street. Nearly all Subway shops in Bloomington are closed due to operating without a proper license for the retail sale of food, according to a Monroe County Health Department notice.

North Eagleson Avenue is seen on a rainy day Jan. 29, 2023. Many students are anticipating Kappa Sigma's return to Greek Row after it was suspended in 2018.

The IU Student Government offered free safety devices at the 2023 Winter Involvement Fair. The personal safety devices that were passed out were "Birdies," which feature a loud alarm and bright light when activated.
