IUSF changes mind, will allow alumni coaches in pits during Little 500

The IU Student Foundation will allow alumni coaches to coach in the pits during the Little 500. In an e-mail sent to Little 500 riders and alumni coaches, IUSF Director Jenny Bruffey wrote that the foundation will allow alumni coaches to “encourage the continued involvement of the many supportive Little 500 alumni and volunteers.”

Don’t choke the riders’ voices

The spirit of this year’s Little 500 will proceed as it has since its inception in 1951. The riders have and continue to prepare tirelessly for April 20 and 21. Sweat, blood and tears have been shed over hours of self-discipline, and for one team in each respective race, it will pay off in victory. Those who are defeated can hold their heads high in accomplishment of completion.

It’s common to hear people whine about how they’re tired of hearing about slavery’s legacy in regards to blacks. I’ve heard people refer to it as “milking sympathy for all it’s worth” or referring to it as “a collective white guilt trip.”

Group hatches initiatives for research on computer games

Computer games and academics typically don’t go hand-in-hand. However, Jeff Bardzell, assistant professor at the IU School of Informatics, and several of his colleagues are directing their efforts toward changing this. Through the recent foundation of the Enlightening Games Group, Bardzell aims to take the first steps toward promoting and initiating game research on the IU campus.

Group to celebrate Persian New Year

The Navruz Student Association will prepare native Persian dishes and entertainment for the 10th annual Navruz Festival to be held this Saturday in Willkie Auditorium. The festival begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
