Illinois threatens Hoosiers’ discounts

HAMMOND, Ind.– The state of Illinois is again threatening to stop giving Hoosier drivers a 50 percent discount when using electronic passes on Illinois tollways if Indiana doesn’t reciprocate.

Track and field sends 4 to nationals

The IU track and field squads will be sending four athletes to the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week, with the women’s squad sending three of those four athletes.

Dear God, I’m writing to recommend David L. Adams for a position in heaven. Those who knew him best knew a lot about Dave – sometimes too much. They knew to call him “Dadams,” never “Dr. Adams,” and they knew to get used to the phrase “I probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but ... ”

Shalom Center set to move to new locations

Last May, Shalom Community Center settled into the basement of 110 S. Washington St. after 10 months and $54,000 worth of renovations. Just weeks later, the center’s property was bought by Finelight, a marketing and communications firm, forcing the center to begin its search for a new home.

Roger Thompson may have a better recruiting class than Kelvin Sampson. Thompson, IU’s vice provost for enrollment management, said he believes the incoming freshman class of 2007 is “the best academically prepared class in the history of IU.”

IU plagiarism quadruples since 1996

According to statistics provided by the Office of Student Ethics, plagiarism on campus has skyrocketed in the past 10 years. In 1995-96, 30 plagiarism cases were reported. By 2005-06, that number jumped to 132 people who have used another's ideas or words.
