You’re OUTTA here!

·

Because I hail from the (not so) great state of New Jersey, I have been genetically modified to bleed New York Yankees and distastefully hate every other baseball team in Major League Baseball. After hearing the Yankees received funding to build a new stadium, I was not only angry but baffled.

Big Ten Network dedication to women a good business move

·

As the Big Ten Network prepares to launch this August, questions surround whether it will be a successful business campaign or a bust that will fail to capture the attention of alumni. Last week an announcement that might have profound effect of the answers came from Big Ten Commissioner James E. Delany. The new network dedicated itself to “event equality” for men’s and women’s sports, pledging to have equal programming of live events within three years of its launch. The move is unprecedented on a national level, making the new network a champion for women’s athletics, which will already make up 40 percent of its programming in the first year of its launch.

Event brings fine arts, 50 artists to courthouse lawn

·

The sky may have been a dreary gray on Saturday, but Bloomington’s downtown square was the exact opposite. Swirls of colors and shapes sheltered under neat white tents clearly distinguished the 27th Arts Fair on the Square from any hint of the lackluster conditions.

Proudly ambiguous

·

During my last week of high school, my graduating class had a “future college mascot dress-up day.” That day, the halls were filled with tigers, mustangs, bulldogs and even spiders. However, being the first from my school in Memphis, Tenn., to attend IU, I faced something of a predicament: how do you begin to dress as a Hoosier?

Horny professors

·

The professor and the student. This duo is often misunderstood. To students, their professors can seem distant and aloof, more like objects than humans, like fake plants or pieces of office furniture. It is quite easy to forget that professors are people first, with feelings and emotions not totally dissimilar to those of their pupils. And on the most basic level, both students and professors are subject to the same ... urges.
