Astral Project performs

Astral Project dazzled audiences Tuesday evening at KRC Catering. Jazz from Bloomington President Monika Herzig described the group as a “fabulous jazz band from New Orleans” and said she was happy to have them play for Jazz from Bloomington’s 10th season of performance.

Dreams come true for Moose’s newest owner

Since 1933, a small brown building adorned with a lighted moose head has drawn Bloomington crowds for homemade ice cream served through a window. The Chocolate Moose attracts lines of customers every year, and seeing Bloomington residents lined up for hand-dipped or soft-serve ice cream any night of the week is to be expected.

Encouraging economic news

After enduring months of rising unemployment and other economic woes, Hoosiers finally heard some good news last week. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the state’s unemployment rate dropped from 10.6 percent in July to 9.9 percent in August. Indiana joined just three other states in the distinction of experiencing a “measurable” decrease in the jobless rate over this period.
