New recruits to change the face of IU basketball

Since August, the Hoosiers have landed commitments from nine of the nation’s top high school basketball players, seven of whom were raised in Indiana and the two others played AAU basketball for an in-state program.

The IU men’s basketball team (6-0) will play away from Assembly Hall for the first time this season when it faces Boston College (4-2) in the ACC/Big Ten/Challenge at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

An unselfish, team-oriented attitude has paved the way to the Hoosiers’ best start since 2002, finishing up November with a clean 6-0 record. IU won six games total in 2008, and it took until Dec. 28 to reach that total last year.

IU junior wide receiver Tandon Doss earned All-Big Ten honors Monday. He was voted to the All-Big Ten first team by the coaches and to the second team by the media.

The senior wide receiver lost two fumbles Saturday that led to Purdue touchdowns but rebounded with crucial catches on IU scoring drives and finished with a career-high 10 receptions for 100 yards.

Women's basketball dominates boards in 66-56 win

Fueled by senior guard Jori Davis’ 18 second-half points, the Hoosiers gained their largest lead of the game with 5:46 remaining and were able to hold on to record their third victory of the season.

Wrestling sweeps Hoosier Duals

The Hoosiers improved to 6-0 in dual meets this season by sweeping opponents North Carolina-Greensboro, Old Dominion and Northern Illinois on Saturday.




Lynch fired after 4 years as head coach

IU football coach Bill Lynch will not be retained as football coach, athletics director Fred Glass announced Sunday. The decision came a day after the Hoosiers ended their 2010 season with a 34-31 overtime victory against rival Purdue in West Lafayette.
