5 years after his death, Coach Hep remembered for vision

On a foggy Bloomington night in June, two beacons shine brightly through the mist. They are the towers that form the North End Zone complex at Memorial Stadium, and they serve as just that: a memorial to a man who has been absent for five years. A man who never saw the towers built.

Hoosier family helps injured strength coach Morris with expensive recovery

The IU Athletic Department creed, “The Spirit of Indiana: 24 Sports, One Team,” holds true as Hoosier athletes rally around Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Tom Morris, who is recovering from a C6 spinal cord injury he sustained during a mountain bike accident May 17. Morris helps Hoosier student-athletes get bigger, faster and stronger for a living. Some of those he has helped in the past are now stepping up to help him.

Griffith becomes first IU football 2013 commit

Homestead Highschool (Fort Wayne) wideout Isaac Griffith became IU's football's first 2013 commit when he accepted his scholarship offer Sunday. Griffith was participating in Head Coach Kevin Wilson's Football Camps, which run through Sunday, June 17 and will attract other IU football recruits to Bloomington.

IU Junior Andy Bayer wins 1,500m NCAA title

Bayer finished the race in 3:43.82, crowning him the champion against Brigham Young University’s Miles Batty by just .01 seconds. It was Bayer's first NCAA title and the first outdoor champion from IU since 1993.

Hollowell leads Indiana All-Stars during 30-5 second half run to beat Kentucky All-Stars

2012 IU Commit Jeremy Hollowell scored nine points and finished with nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 16 minutes during the finale of the 2012 Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Series at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. He energized the crowd with his defensive effort and transition baskets during a 30-5 Indiana run in the second half that put away Kentucky for an 83-73 victory.

IU softball signee named 2012 Gatorade Indiana Softball Player of the Year

Indiana University Softball signee Brooke Boetjer was named the 2012 Gatorade Indiana Softball Player of the Year Thursday. A pitcher for South Putnam High School, Boejter has led the team to back-to-back IHSAA Class 2A state title games after winning the title last season.

2013 commits Davis, Hartman perform well in All-star scrimmage

In preparation of facing their counterparts from Kentucky, Indiana’s Junior and Senior All-Star teams suited up Wednesday in front of a near-capacity crowd at Pendleton Heights High School’s Arabian Arena in the second of two scrimmages, with the seniors winning 121-96.

With help of supporters, IU strength coach continues recovery

After experiencing a C6 spinal cord injury while mountain biking, Tom Morris, IU Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, is recovering from the accident at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. IU athletes and Morris's family members have set up fundraisers for his recovery.

IU baseball players Johnson and Martin selected in 2012 MLB draft

After playing college baseball in Btown, Micah Johnson and Chad Martin have a chance to one day play professionally in the Windy City. The IU players were selected Tuesday night in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by Chicago’s crosstown baseball rivals.
