Tough conference opponents spoil return home

The No. 20 Hoosiers were swept in the Big Ten Double Dual on Saturday, losing to Minnesota 46-23 in the morning with the exact same result coming in the afternoon against No. 12 Wisconsin at Lake Lemon in Riddle Point Park northeast of Bloomington.

Former IU diver, Olympic medalist dies at 43

IU diving legend Mark Lenzi has died at the age of 43. A 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist in the 3-meter, Lenzi was hospitalized in critical condition March 28 for fainting spells and a dangerously low blood pressure of 78/48, according to Fredericksburg.com. He was unable to survive and passed away Monday morning.

Along a wall, there are framed photos of Fiji brothers holding up the Borg-Warner Trophy after winning the race in 1956, 1965, 1967, 1975, 1987 and 1995. There’s one empty frame on the wall with a piece of paper taped up that reads, “RESERVED FOR 2012.”

Hoosiers split matches against ranked Iowa, Nebraska

For the second straight weekend, No. 45 Indiana split two matches against ranked competition at home. The Hoosiers started the weekend taking on No. 72 Iowa. IU denied Iowa its first road win of the season, as it defeated the Hawkeyes 6-1.

In-state battle with Butler ends in scoreless tie

After its first two games resulted in a combined 13 goals, the IU men’s soccer team played in-state rival Butler to a 0-0 tie after 90 minutes of play Friday night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Hoosiers face duo of Big Ten opponents to get back on track

Unlike last weekend, the Hoosiers will have the benefit of a day’s rest between contests — not to mention an extra hour of preparation thanks to the time change. Central Time will play host to both matches, which are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday, respectively.
