After a fateful move during the final five seconds of Friday night’s scrimmage during Hoosier Hysteria at Assembly Hall, the IU men’s basketball team has now had four of the team’s six scholarship freshmen go down with injuries during preparation for the 2013-14 season.

The dark basketball gym transitioned to a scene of paparazzi. Small beams of white light started to creep up everywhere in the audience during the banner’s two-minute rise to the top, each person looking to capture the moment of the first new banner to enter Assembly Hall since 2002.

Nittany Lions beat Hoosiers 2-0

In the Hoosiers’ previous game, a 2-0 loss at No. 2 Notre Dame on Wednesday, two first-half goals by the opposition made all the difference. Against Penn State, IU (4-6-1, 1-1) again allowed a pair of first-half strikes and were defeated again by a score of 2-0.

In a weekend where IU women’s soccer picked up a pair of Big Ten wins against Northwestern and Illinois, Berbary said Candler and junior midfielder Jordan Woolums came through.

Hughes’ touchdown ignites Hoosiers

Leading by 11 with 14 minutes and 10 seconds remaining in Saturday’s game against Penn State, IU was about to break the game open.After sophomore running back Tevin Coleman was tackled for a loss on first down, the Hoosiers looked to pass on second down.
