UPDATE: Hoosiers pull off road win against Illini

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- In dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon, the IU football team claimed a 34-32 victory over Illinois on a last-second field goal from sophomore kicker Austin Starr. With just 2:31 remaining in the game, the Hoosiers got the ball back from the Illini. Freshman quarterback Kellen Lewis took IU 80 yards downfield to give Starr a chance to win the game.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Corey Simon will miss the rest of the season after being placed on the nonfootball illness-injury list Thursday by the Indianapolis Colts. No details about illness were disclosed.

Hoeppner nominated for national award

Less than a month after having his second brain surgery in the past year, IU coach Terry Hoeppner was nominated on Tuesday for the FedEx Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the 2006 season.
